ANNOUNCING THE GRAND OPENING OF . . .
EYESHOT'S FRIENDLY SHOPPES FOR AURAL & TEXTUAL EXCITEMENT

WE ARE ACTUALY SORT OF EMBARRASSED TO ADMIT THAT WE HAVE OPENED ONE OF THOSE SILLY
AMAZON AFFILIATE STORES - PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL US "CERDOS CAPITALISTAS!"

So the holiday season is nearly upon us, yo! Which means you can now buy highly recommended books or music accessible within the virtual storefront we've officially christened Eyeshot's Friendly Shoppes for Aural & Textual Excitement. Toward the top of the bookstore, you'll find ( . . . um . . . ) books by people who've posted bits of writing on Eyeshot, or by people we sort of know and like, followed by a bunch of books by people we don't know at all but whose writing we recommend with all our evangelical might. In the music store section, you'll find (that's right!) music, including a few dozen titles of guaranteed aural excellence, all of which we own and enjoy as often as possible. In both sections, we would have gladly included more titles, but were limited by time and the capabilities of the program known to PC users as "Notepad." (We also sometimes use a Mac, but "Simple Text" put weird "/par" codes into the pages for some reason when we tried using it. [Please realize we're not a techie-type person, despite recently having a cable-modem connection installed that plugs directly into our extra-wide navel.]) So, anyway, if you buy any of the titles we offer through Amazon, we'll apparently be granted like 15% of the selected cultural item's purchase price, I think. And please realize we have this shoppe's account thing set up so whatever money it makes will be made available to us in the form of credit with Amazon, which we'll probably very swiftly turn into more books and music (Oh, how Eyeshot's ever-wanting eye is on the new $40 Chris Ware sketchbook!) And, of course, if you see anything interesting on the pages of Eyeshot's Friendly Shoppes for Aural & Textual Excitement, we encourage you to buy the books or the cds from independent purveyors. But if you live somewhere where you'd have to buy these things from a major chain anyway, please maybe buy them through our shoppes (shoppes, especially in the kitschy way we're using it, is really sort of annoying, huh!?! And this parenthetical comment doesn't do much to limit that annoyance either, does it? - oh man, oh man, we're f+cked), SHOPS which are now open for business and shall intermittently evolve, perhaps, throughout everyone's lifetimes, or at least Eyeshot's. Now go look and listen, please.

Also, we'd like you to re-read Kevin Sampsell's lovely contribution if you've only read it once or twice already.

Please return tomorrow for a new posting of online literary e-fiction on the Internet.
